Grand Valley State University Devos Center

Completed in August 2000, the Grand Valley Devos Center is located on Fulton and Pearl St. The total cost of this complex was over forty million dollars and covered over 250,000 square feet.

The scope of the campus was designed in the likes of Thomas Jefferson's famous campus at the University of Virginia. Instead of one large building, there are several smaller buildings around a square.

The electrical contract for this project totaled over 4 million dollars. The lighting of the project included

many custom fixtures that were quite complex to mount due to their size and locations. The specialty fixtures were designed to accentuate the art and beautiful craftsmanship of the building.

The site lighting was also designed to ensure safety at night while also creating a safe, park-like setting. The coordination of this work with the many other trades on-site required extensive planning and excellent teamwork throughout the project.
